Ingredients
Syrup
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp neutral oil
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup corn syrup
Mix
2 cups Corn Chex
2 cups Wheat Chex
2 cups Honeycomb Cereal
2 cups Bugles
1 cup pretzel snaps
1 bag Kasugai Roasted Green Peas (73g)
Seasoning
1/2 jar Nori Komi Furikake
1 tsp shichimi togarashi (Japanese 7 spice, optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 250. Melt butter in a small saucepan. Add sugar, oil, soy sauce, and corn syrup and mix until blended. Let cool.
Add Corn Chex, Wheat Chex, Honeycomb, Bugles, pretzels, and peas to an 11x17 baking dish. Whisk the syrup to make sure it’s emulsified, and then pour over the dry ingredients. Mix everything well with 2 silicone spatulas. Sprinkle on the furikake and shichimi togarashi, if using, and mix again.
Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Once out of the oven, let cool for another 15 minutes and stir again. When folly cool, place in an airtight container.
Notes
There’s just nothing better than this! Nothing. It’s great with or without the shichimi togarashi, but I like the kick from the spice.
